I Just Love Adventure...
David has been on more than 30 expedition cruises around the world – 15 as an onboard lecturer, guide, geologist and naturalist. David is an expert on the oceans and a passionate environmentalist and weas even nominated as Australian of the Year in 2016 for his work. He’s been to many remote places including the North Pole, Antarctica and the Northwest Passage. He has booked through Cruise Traveller seven times and has more expeditions planned on the horizon.
“ I just love adventure, especially the polar regions, and sharing the wonders of these special places through my work. It’s a real privilege to be in these pristine and remote corners of the world and small ships help all of us get there. The Northwest Passage – only open to ships six weeks a year when ice melts – is one of the world’s best sea journeys between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans with so much incredible wildlife everywhere. Cruise Traveller has always looked after my travels so well – great service and they know what you need before you do! ”
A Prize for Yvonne
“ Such a lovely, lovely surprise!” That’s how Yvonne, of Neutral Bay in Sydney, described learning she had won Cruise Traveller’s big prize of a luxury, seven-night European river cruise for two with our partner, Riviera Travel River Cruises. “My husband, Rod, and I just love cruising and we especially love small ships. In fact, we have one booked to Antarctica for when overseas borders reopen. On small ships, it’s so much easier to get to know people – and far easier to go back to your cabin when you forget something! Smaller ships are also more intimate and standards in service and cuisine are usually higher. We can’t wait to return to Europe to do the river cruise and we would like to sincerely thank Cruise Traveller and Riviera Travel River Cruises for offering the prize. ”

Ponant were great
“ The trip was everything we hoped for and more. It sometimes tested our comfort zones but we survived and kept coming back for more. Ponant were great and the crew, captain, officers and especially the expedition crew were fantastic. Special thanks to Cruise Traveller and especially Kirsten for her personal help, a great asset to the company. ”

We prefer small ships
“Our cruise from Cairns to Sydney in December aboard Ponant’s Le Laperouse was just stunning. We enjoyed Christmas onboard with all the festivities and trimmings and the service and cuisine were wonderful. We also sailed last year aboard Crystal Symphony from Japan to America via Russia and Alaska and that was also a great holiday. We prefer small ships because they are quieter with less children, there are no queues, you get to know the crew and they are often all-inclusive so you don’t have to think about what you are spending each day. We particularly like Ponant because their vessels feel like yachts and they go to smaller ports. Our next cruise will be with Azamara when it’s safe to travel again.”
Best Holiday I have Ever Taken
“The best experience ever – that was my trip to Antarctica aboard Ponant’s expedition ship, Le Lyrial. The 2-week cruise was easily the best holiday I’ve ever taken. The penguins, seals and whales were incredible and unlike bigger ships where you are not allowed ashore in Antarctica, we set foot on the ice many times. I travelled on my own but because the ship was small, it was so easy to get to know the crew and fellow passengers. I’m looking forward to my next cruise with Ponant in the Kimberley.”
I had the best time!
“I had the best time. Remember I was a little nervous travelling by myself? Well as soon as I stepped on the plane all that went away .
Remember you said I will make friends well that I did – lots .
Thank you Kirsten for knowing the right things to say to this old lady and helping me to make the decision to go .
I had a wonderful time. It was exciting, adventurous and life changing and that’s what I needed . I saw things I could only see there and nowhere else in the world. The AC team and ship crew are the best at what they do from the Captain to the young man that turn down my bed each night and also left a chocolate, the zodiac drivers that always had my safety first. My first ride out to the ship I remember how frightened I was but by the last trip off the ship to land to catch the plane I was throwing that leg over the side of the zodiac like I had been doing this all my life . Remember I was concerned I would have sea sickness? Well that didn’t happen, and I loved it.
Each day was like no other , we started with beautiful sunny days and in the last few days of the trip we had beautiful cold days with snow . I made my first snowman he was a little on the small size about 15cm tall and I named him Joey. I had art lessons on the cruise and now would like to continue with lessons as I enjoyed it so much. I could write a book on how great this trip was .
Please pass on a BIG THANK YOU to Craig & Louise for a special ride in a zodiac with champagne and music and having all the Aussies together, I felt that was so special . Also you may not know this but Craig did a morning wake up announcement and he was so good everybody loved it, also on the special zodiac ride I did think of you .
Every day I think about my trip, the people, the beautiful icebergs, seeing a mother and two baby bears and lots more but there is one thing that has changed my way of thinking – the Inuit People. Learning about their culture I found a understanding more of the people and their life and I wish them well for the future of their children and their homeland .
A BIG THANK YOU Kirsten for all your help.”
Small ships - much friendlier
“As a solo traveller, I find small ships are ideal as they are intimate and friendlier. It’s so easy to get to know fellow passengers and crew and I also get to visit interesting and remote places. I don’t travel to go shopping. I like to visit beautiful and special places. And that’s why I sailed with Ponant in February to Macquarie Island and other sub-Antarctic islands. And next February, I’m booked with Silversea to cruise from Melbourne to Darwin via the Kimberley. I always have a lovely cabin to myself and really enjoy the journey.”

Will recommend & travel again
I was so disappointed with being unable to travel to France for my cruise but I hope to do so in the future and I will definitely book through Cruise Traveller. Your service has been exemplary in this time of great confusion & difficulty. I have greatly appreciated your attention & your prompt communications by phone & email. I will recommend your company to others. Many thanks again to your team, especially Rejana, who was so delightful to deal with.

Efficient, yet personal
I’d like to thank you so much for all the hard work you put in during this difficult time with COVID-19. I’m so impressed with the efficiency of Cruise Traveller, the information given, the personal touch, and the speed of handling the refund etc situation. The rest of the travel industry could certainly learn from you on how to do it properly!

Family business made it more personal
Ever since attending a seminar hosted by Cruise Traveller and Adventure Canada’s own MJ I knew the High Arctic was somewhere I needed to visit. I finally got the opportunity and was able to do their High Arctic cruise in August 19. The itinerary and destinations were amazing but what really made it was the Adventure Canada team including the CEO of the company! Being a family business made it feel more personable, everyone on board just knew they were doing something really special. Their expedition team was made up of experts in their fields and also some really interesting Inuit people which made each landing even more special as we were visiting their home. Our ship the Ocean Endeavour served us well with a fleet of zodiacs and hotel and restaurant staff that were friendly and looked after us very well. I can’t wait for the opportunity to cruise with Adventure Canada again.

Great service and amazing scenery
What a magic time to cruise on the Danube from Budapest to Vienna and back for the Christmas markets. We fell in love with our floating home, MS Thomas Hardy, especially the open French balcony in our stateroom where we could look dreamily at the passing scenery and also the ship-top jacuzzi where we soaked in more scenery at dawn and dusk and even after dinner. We also loved the free bikes we could ride to explore medieval towns. And the onboard classical music performance by local musicians in Vienna was also memorable. Great service, amazing scenery, enchanting markets. Loved it all

Much more personal
I really enjoyed my cruise with Riviera, as the smaller numbers on the ship, made it much more personal. The staff were wonderful and the scenery terrific.

We had a fantastic trip in India. All went very smoothly, the safari bit was great, saw Tigers ,monkeys etc , getting up at 4.30am was a bit of a killer but was worth it.
The cruise staff and group were great fun. Thank You for all your help,

Adventure Canada wins over Cathy
I have always been interested in the Arctic and Antarctic regions and visiting areas that are off the beaten track, have beautiful landscapes and the potential for seeing unique wild life. I prefer small ship cruising and the no single supplement was an advantage too. The itinerary and expedition type cruising were the main factors.
… I appreciate the organisation, time and effort that must have gone on behind the scenes to rearrange things when the itinerary had to change, often at the last minute, but it appeared seamless, eg HMS Erebus site, Grise Fiord, Nuuk overnight, Ilulissat, L’Anse aux Meadows visit. It was clear that the main aim was to provide the optimal experience for passengers, regardless of cost and/or what needed to happen to make it work.
I didn’t know anything about Adventure Canada before my 2 cruises but would certainly travel with the company again. I have also had no hesitation in extolling the virtues of the company to family and friends since arriving home.

It's the Personal Touch
Thank you to you, Del and everyone up front and behind the scenes at Cruise Traveller who worked so hard and were so accommodating, helpful and enthusiastic which enabled me to explore the Canadian High Arctic, Greenland, Labrador, Newfoundland plus the East Canada cities in such a unique way. There were so many highlights, many unexpected, and I learned and saw so much, with many once in a lifetime experiences.
Even though Cruise Traveller is based in QLD, the personal touch I experienced from you and Del made all the planning and organisation so much easier. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cruise Traveller to anyone interested in cruising.

Can't Wait to Return to Portugal
We thoroughly enjoyed our Douro River Cruise on board the “Douro Elegance”. Our sightseeing Guides were very knowledgeable and offered us many insights into the locations that we visited. The river itself was a great experience with both the highest and second highest locks in Europe being traversed and the vine covered hills along the way added a touch of serenity whilst gliding along the river.
Life on board was very relaxing and enjoyable. The staff and crew provided excellent service and all our meals were very enjoyable. In particular we enjoyed the Music Night where a few of us got the chance to exercise our vocal chords.
Finally, we found Porto to be a great experience. The city was alive and colourful and we look forward to the day that we can return.

On the Record
I would like to place on record our appreciation for the service provided by Kirsten. This is the second trip she has booked for us and has at all times been helpful, efficient, friendly and prompt, in short, a pleasure to do business with.

The Perfect Kimberley Trip
Arrived home safe and sound, back to normality again, (bummer). Absolutely amazing cruise, weather was perfect for the entire trip. Ate & drank too much but loved every minute of it. The entire crew of Le Laperouse couldn’t do enough for us. Spoilt rotten with food, beverages & service.
Our sincere thanks to you and your staff for making our “bucket list” holiday come true. All flights & transfers went off without a hitch.
Feel free to use this email in anyway for your agency. Would recommend your professional & thorough work ethics to one and all. Thank you again.

Star Clipper beats them all
We had the best experience on a ship we could have had. The Star Clipper itself was in the best condition of any ship we have sailed. The food was amazing and the service from everyone was excellent as well. We would have no hesitation in recommending either the ship or yourself to other friends looking for a unique adventure.

The best of all our 35 cruises
This was the best cruise of all of our 35. The crew and guides and hospitality staff were so friendly helpful and knowledgeable. We were kept on our toes from 7 until 11 every day. The included excursions were extremely good too. Never before had such expensive tours at no charge. Thanks for your help too.

From the moment we were taken onto the Venice dock to the moment we disembarked & arrived at Rome Airport – the entire process was seamlessly coordinated. It seems as if Regent had taken account of every customer survey, comment & criticism ever written and rolled them all into one first class cruise. The interior decor of the ship was sumptuously furnished & fitted out with no expense spared. The on-board service i.e. meals, entertainment, restaurants, lounges, organisation of shore excursions could not be faulted.

Journey has fulfilled a dream
This journey has fulfilled a dream that I have had for many years. Thank you.
Travelled aboard the MV Mahabaahu through India
I wish to thank your staff, on behalf of my husband, Ron, and myself for the wonderful service we have received from your company and in particular would say a special thank you to Rejana Gerards who did our booking for us, as well as the ill fated Voyage of Discovery which was subsequently cancelled. Rejana did a wonderful job of replying to all my questions within a very short time and was so very helpful in organising our bookings. I will always recommend your company to anyone who is thinking of cruising.

Cruised for last 7 years
For the past 7 years I have travelled every year on the Aegean Odyssey having booked through Cruise Traveller. The exceptional service, interest and expertise have been outstanding from the whole staff, especially Kirsten. I have been travelling for many years and have never had better attention to every detail of my bookings.
Loyal VTA Traveller
Jeanette and I have used Cruise Traveller and Kirsten in particular, for organising our travel overseas with Voyages to Antiquity – a total of 6 trips since 2012. Kirsten has been a terrific planner for us, with helpful advice by both phone and email – nothing was too much trouble for her in the planning stages. We would advise other would-be travellers to utilise her knowledge, etc in planning their travels.

Over the last nine months we have had three major set backs: cancelled leg of cruise; cancelled cruise; and cruise line go broke. In each case Cruise Traveller did the right thing by us. They did not hide behind the small print in the contact or buck-pass us to the cruise line or to our insurance company. In each case they saw us, the client, as their top priority and worked really hard to get the best outcome for us. I recommend them unreservedly.
Always met our high expectations
We have very specific objectives and requirements with our cruises, and have found that Cruise Traveller has always met our needs and high expectations. In particular, Kirsten has assisted us greatly with our planning and bookings.
