Join CroisiEurope for an art- and culture-filled cruise on the Seine River. Visit celebrated museums— including the Musée Marmottan Monet—as well as the lovely home of Claude Monet and his supreme gardens in Giverny. Enjoy thematic tours of cities and villages that were part of the French Impressionist movement, such as Barbizon, Rouen, and Honfleur.

Day 1
Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Join us for a thematic presentation entitled The Definition of Impressionism, its Origins, Techniques, and Contexts.

Day 2
We’ll spend the morning cruising to Melun. This afternoon, join us for a guided tour of Barbizon. This charming village found fame in the 19th century through the works of art created by landscape painters who were members of the Barbizon School art movement. The Auberge Ganne, where the artists once lived, is now a museum. We’ll enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment.

Day 3
We’ll spend the morning cruising. In the afternoon, join us for a visit to the Musée Marmottan Monet(1), which houses the largest collection of his paintings. After we return on board, we’ll begin to cruise to Mantes-la-Jolie. Join us for a second onboard presentation entitled Claude Monet, the Quintessential Impressionist.

Day 4
Join us for a tour of Monet’s home and studio in Giverny. We’ll spend the afternoon cruising to Rouen. Enjoy a cabaret-style evening of entertainment on board.

Day 5
We’ll set out on a guided tour of Rouen(2) this morning by following the footsteps of the Impressionists. The afternoon will be dedicated to a guided tour of the Norman Abbey Circuit. We’ll discover Jumiège and the ruins of one of the most magnificent abbeys in France, as well as the Church of Saint Peter and the Abbey of Saint Wandrille. Our ship will cast off for Honfleur (departure time will depend on the tides). Join us for a thematic presentation entitled The Geography of Impressionism: Paris and its Suburbs, Honfleur, and the Coastlines of Normandy.

Day 6
Set out on a walking tour of Honfleur, the cradle of Impressionism. Enjoy some free time on your own at the Eugène Boudin Museum. This afternoon, we’ll visit the Côte d’Albâtre, with its magnificent white cliffs lined with pebble beaches and the small seaside city of Étretat.

Day 7
Enjoy breakfast on board this morning before disembarking at 9:00 a.m.

CroisiEurope has a fleet of Prestige category boats with cabins, which ply the most beautiful rivers in Europe. Spacious and light, they offer a welcoming and refined setting. Accommodation capacity varies from 100 to 180 passengers depending on the boat’s design. At the cutting edge of technology, their facilities offer comfort and safety.

Carefully maintained and partially renovated each year, the CroisiEurope fleet is largely made up of recently built vessels, less than five years old, all with Veritas certification. The leading European river tour operator, our company owes its international reputation to its seriousness, its dynamism, its sense of innovation and its recognised value for money of long standing.

Vessels are rated four-star and food is superb – as you’d expect on a French-owned cruise line, staffed by French chefs and with top French and German wines aboard. One cruise of the Rhone and Saone Rivers in France concentrates on gastronomy and traditional French cusine, visiting Collonges Abbey, renowned for its great French chef, Paul Bocuse.

CroisiEurope is a family-owned and operated firm, with brothers and sisters running different aspects of the company and keeping a close eye on all operations to ensure excellence.

River cruising offers much free fun. Wake in the morning and observe the passing riverside scenery through your cabin window – perhaps from your bed. Gaze upon village churches or a patchwork of fields sparkling in the morning sun.

CroisiEurope’s network traverses a phenomenal number of European rivers and waterways. They range from the Guadalquivir and Guadiana (flowing through Spain and Portugal respectively); the Douro in Portugal, the Po and Venice Lagoon in Italy; the Rhone in Provence, plus the Seine from Paris to the Normandy Coast. And there’s more: the Moselle, the Neckar, the Saar, the Oder, the Havel, the Baltic Sea, the Camarge, the Rhine, the Main and the mighty Danube; the Tisza and the Black Sea; the Belgian and Dutch waterways. Everything from tulip time in Holland to Christmas Markets in Germany.

Drinks included with on board meals: mineral water, house wine, beer, fruit juice, and tea or coffee.
