We felt particularly spoiled.

Horizontal Falls – Nick Rains – Ponant Cruises

“The ship was only half full- just 80 passengers- so we felt particularly spoiled; no trouble finding a table when dining, a seat in the lecture theatre or on one of the Zodiacs. Food and beverages provided were excellent, as were our experiences with the crew, waiters and naturalists who all went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable.

Despite being the last trip for the season the weather was perfect and excursions on the Zodiacs all went very well. The guides were well-informed and were able to answer our questions knowledgeably and willingly (and always appeared to be enthusiastic and enjoying themselves.)

All very positive, and our trip was topped the final night by being invited to dine at the Captain’s table!

We enjoyed everything about the trip

King George River – Nick Rains – Ponant Cruises

“ All went very well. Ponant was extremely well organised, the ship was a good size, the company fitted well with us, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Even the weather was kind. We enjoyed everything about the trip. Thank you for all your assistance along the way. It certainly helped to have you there to respond whenever we needed some help or advice. And don’t forget the shuttle you used – Brad Shuttle Service Darwin – he was great, unlike the shuttle our friends were on.

Stimulating Action Packed Adventure

Viewing birdlife, Lacepede Islands – Nick Rains – Ponant Cruises

“ The Ponant Kimberly cruise was a wonderful experience, stimulating action packed adventure. It was difficult to fault the Ponant crew, from kitchen to the Captain all worked hard to enrich passengers’ experience.  Vibe was friendly, accessible but overall very professional.  Zodiac excursions were conducted with confidence and skill.  It was a pleasure to sail with a happy crew. Hotels in Darwin and Broome were fine and transfers went smoothly. Thanks for organising our great escape.

The Whales Came out to Play

“ The highlights were as spectacular as last year and on our last day all the whales came out to play and were amazing. …Le Laperouse was a nice ship but my favourite is still LeSoleal, but the staff and crew and the lovely young expedition people were great as usual. I recommend Ponant to my friends, they really run the ships so well.

I Would Recommend this Cruise

“I had a wonderful time on board Le Laperouse and was delighted with the cabin which had every attention to detail –  even supplying a shoe horn!  Being able to make a cup of tea in the cabin was a luxury.  The food on board was delicious  and the service great. The cruise was amazing  – the scenery was spectacular. We met some lovely passengers.   I would recommend this cruise.

Wonderful Experience in the Kimberley

“We are home from our wonderful experience with Ponant from Darwin to Broome. We were very fortunate to have fantastic weather for the whole of the journey.  All the arrangements you had put into place worked perfectly from our flights to Darwin, 2 nights there and then aboard the ship.

Le Laperouse - just Fantastic

“ The crew were fantastic, from waiters to the young expedition guides who were all experts in their own field.  To say nothing of the scrumptious food, wines and daily cocktails!  The cabin and bathroom were beautifully appointed, and the balcony a real bonus as a place to sit and read or do crosswords.

Ponant were great

“ The trip was everything we hoped for and more. It sometimes tested our comfort zones but we survived and kept coming back for more. Ponant were great and the crew, captain, officers and especially the expedition crew were fantastic. Special thanks to Cruise Traveller and especially Kirsten for her personal help, a great asset to the company.

Best Holiday I have Ever Taken

“The best experience ever – that was my trip to Antarctica aboard Ponant’s expedition ship, Le Lyrial. The 2-week cruise was easily the best holiday I’ve ever taken. The penguins, seals and whales were incredible and unlike bigger ships where you are not allowed ashore in Antarctica, we set foot on the ice many times. I travelled on my own but because the ship was small, it was so easy to get to know the crew and fellow passengers. I’m looking forward to my next cruise with Ponant in the Kimberley.”

Small ships - much friendlier

“As a solo traveller, I find small ships are ideal as they are intimate and friendlier. It’s so easy to get to know fellow passengers and crew and I also get to visit interesting and remote places. I don’t travel to go shopping. I like to visit beautiful and special places. And that’s why I sailed with Ponant in February to Macquarie Island and other sub-Antarctic islands. And next February, I’m booked with Silversea to cruise from Melbourne to Darwin via the Kimberley. I always have a lovely cabin to myself and really enjoy the journey.”
