VIVA UNIQUE, 7 Night Italy for All the Senses ex Venice, Italy Return

This eight-day journey takes you from Venice through the fascinating lagoon landscape and further into the river regions of northern Italy. The route combines world-famous sights with smaller towns, rural scenery and authentic impressions of the region between the lagoon and the Po. The result is a varied journey bringing together art, history, nature and the unmistakable pleasures of Italian life.

Your adventure begins in Venice. From San Basilio, the ship moves to Riva dei Sette Martiri on the first evening, providing an excellent starting point for exploring the historic lagoon city. St Mark’s Square, St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge are among its most celebrated landmarks, while narrow lanes, intimate squares and countless canals reveal the city’s unique character. On the second day, the journey continues to Mazzorbo. This peaceful island provides a delightful contrast to bustling Venice, with gardens, vineyards and a relaxed atmosphere. Neighbouring Burano, famous for its brightly coloured houses, is easily reached from here.

The route then leaves the central lagoon and continues towards the Po Delta. Around Taglio di Po, northern Italy reveals a distinctly more rural side. Waterways, fields and the special delta landscape create an atmosphere shaped by the meeting of river and sea. From here, you travel to Polesella, a small town on the Po offering a tranquil glimpse of everyday life away from the major tourist centres. The journey between Taglio di Po and Polesella repeatedly opens up views across broad river landscapes and fertile countryside.

On Day 5, the route leads back via Taglio di Po towards Chioggia. This traditional fishing town at the southern edge of the lagoon has a character all its own, with canals, bridges and lively squares. Sometimes compared with Venice, Chioggia feels more down-to-earth and local, with fishing and maritime traditions still playing an important role in daily life.

Finally, the journey returns to Venice, where several additional days allow plenty of time for individual discoveries. Combining iconic Venice with peaceful islands, the Po Delta and smaller towns in the northern Italian countryside, this itinerary offers a rich and varied perspective on a region shaped by water, culture and centuries of history.

The VIVA ship fleet continues to grow – and fulfils a very special heartfelt wish: From May 2027, the VIVA UNIQUE will set sail on the fascinating Po in Italy. Our exclusive ship combines modern design with the lightness and joie de vivre of the Italian dolce vita. With a length of 110 meters, the VIVA UNIQUE offers space for 104 guests in 52 cabins, more than half of which are suites up to 323 sqft in size.
