This eight-day journey combines the unique world of the Venetian Lagoon with the changing landscapes of the Po, taking you deep into the cultural heart of northern Italy. From world-famous architecture and colourful islands to small riverside communities and historic cities, the itinerary reveals a region whose history and way of life have been closely connected with water for centuries.

The journey begins in Venice. Canals, elegant palaces and winding lanes make the lagoon city an extraordinary destination. Around St Mark’s Square, discover magnificent St Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, while a journey along the Grand Canal provides constantly changing views of historic façades and the famous Rialto Bridge. On Day 2, you leave Venice for Mazzorbo. With its gardens, vineyards and peaceful atmosphere, the small island provides a delightful contrast to bustling Venice. A footbridge also connects Mazzorbo with colourful Burano, instantly recognisable for its brightly painted houses.

The route then continues towards the Po Delta and Taglio di Po, where waterways, fields and broad plains characterise the scenery. From here, travel onwards to Polesella and via Santa Maria Maddalena to Revere. Along the way, northern Italy becomes increasingly rural, with small communities, fertile landscapes and a slower rhythm far removed from the major tourist centres.

Boretto provides another characteristic stop along the Po. The river and surrounding plains have shaped life here for generations, while the wider region is also celebrated for its rich culinary traditions. Finally, the journey reaches Cremona in Lombardy. This elegant historic city is internationally renowned for its centuries-old tradition of violin making and its association with Antonio Stradivari. Around Piazza del Comune, the cathedral, baptistery and soaring Torrazzo create one of the city’s most impressive architectural ensembles.

Your journey concludes in Cremona, with time to explore its heritage and distinctive atmosphere. From the splendour of the Venetian Lagoon to the quieter landscapes of the Po and the cultural treasures of Lombardy, this itinerary offers a fascinating and varied perspective on northern Italy.

With a length of 110 meters, the VIVA UNIQUE offers space for 104 guests in 52 cabins, more than half of which are suites up to 323 sqft in size.
