This eight-day trip combines Venice with the most beautiful and distinctive places in its lagoon. Rather than covering long distances, the focus here is on immersive stays, unique perspectives on life by the water, and plenty of time for individual exploration. This way, you’ll experience both the world-famous splendor of Venice and the quieter island worlds around Mazzorbo, as well as the authentic atmosphere of Chioggia.

The trip begins in Venice, first in San Basilio and then at the Riva dei Sette Martiri. This leaves plenty of time to explore the lagoon city at your own pace. Around St. Mark’s Square, the magnificent St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and the Campanile await, while a boat ride along the Grand Canal offers ever-changing views of historic palaces, churches, and the famous Rialto Bridge. Equally charming are the quieter sides of the city: narrow alleys, small squares, hidden courtyards, and traditional bacari offer glimpses into everyday life in Venice.

On the third day, the journey continues to Mazzorbo. This small, green island offers a wonderful contrast to the bustling center of Venice. Gardens, vineyards, and a relaxed atmosphere define the scene. A pedestrian bridge takes you directly to neighboring Burano, whose colorful houses are among the most famous sights of the Venetian Lagoon. The island is also known for its long tradition of lace-making.

The journey then continues to Chioggia on the southern edge of the lagoon. This historic fishing town, with its canals, bridges, narrow streets, and lively squares, has a character all its own. Chioggia is sometimes compared to Venice, but it feels more down-to-earth and authentic. Its close connection to the sea, the fish market, and everyday local life all contribute to its special atmosphere.

On the sixth day, you’ll return to Venice. The remaining days offer plenty of opportunity to revisit your favorite spots, explore museums and churches, or simply enjoy the Venetian way of life over an espresso, cicchetti, and a stroll along the waterfront. This trip combines famous sights with tranquil islands and authentic lagoon towns for an immersive and varied Venice experience.

The VIVA ship fleet continues to grow – and fulfils a very special heartfelt wish: From May 2027, the VIVA UNIQUE will set sail on the fascinating Po in Italy. Our exclusive ship combines modern design with the lightness and joie de vivre of the Italian dolce vita. With a length of 110 meters, the VIVA UNIQUE offers space for 104 guests in 52 cabins, more than half of which are suites up to 323 sqft in size.
