Your journey begins in Venice. From San Basilio, the ship moves to Riva dei Sette Martiri on the first evening, providing an excellent base from which to discover the historic lagoon city. Around St Mark’s Square, admire the magnificent St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Campanile. A journey along the Grand Canal reveals elegant palaces, historic churches and the iconic Rialto Bridge. Yet Venice is equally enchanting away from its celebrated landmarks, where narrow lanes, small bridges, hidden squares and traditional bacari invite you to wander without a fixed destination.

On Day 2, the journey continues to Mazzorbo. This small island provides a delightful contrast to the lively heart of Venice, revealing a quieter side of the lagoon. Gardens, vineyards and a peaceful atmosphere characterise its landscape. A footbridge connects Mazzorbo with neighbouring Burano, famous for its brightly coloured houses and centuries-old lace-making tradition. Together, the islands offer a charming glimpse of everyday life in the Venetian Lagoon.

The journey then continues south to Chioggia. With its canals, bridges, narrow streets and lively squares, this traditional fishing town has a distinctive character of its own. Its close relationship with the sea and authentic atmosphere provide another fascinating perspective on life around the lagoon.

On the fourth evening, you return to Venice. Two additional days give you plenty of time to revisit favourite places, discover art and architecture or simply enjoy Venetian life over an espresso, cicchetti and a leisurely stroll beside the water. Combining iconic Venice with the quieter beauty and traditions of its lagoon, this journey reveals the remarkable diversity of one of Italy’s most distinctive regions.

The VIVA ship fleet continues to grow – and fulfils a very special heartfelt wish: From May 2027, the VIVA UNIQUE will set sail on the fascinating Po in Italy. With a length of 110 meters, the VIVA UNIQUE offers space for 104 guests in 52 cabins, more than half of which are suites up to 323 sqft in size.
