As your ship leaves the metropolis behind, the Seine reveals an entirely different side of France. Travelling at a leisurely pace, you can watch the scenery change as the river winds through peaceful countryside and towards the historic landscapes of Normandy.
One of the highlights along the way is Les Andelys, a picturesque town framed by green riverbanks and dramatic chalk cliffs. High above the Seine stand the impressive ruins of Château Gaillard, the medieval fortress associated with Richard the Lionheart and a striking reminder of the region’s eventful past. Continuing along the river, you arrive in Rouen, the historic capital of Normandy. Its old town is characterised by half-timbered houses, atmospheric lanes and remarkable churches. The magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral dominates the skyline, while the story of Joan of Arc adds another fascinating chapter to Rouen’s rich heritage.
On the return journey towards Paris, your ship calls at Conflans, situated at the confluence of the Oise and the Seine. For centuries, the town has been closely linked to inland navigation, a tradition that still gives its waterfront a distinctive character. From here, the Seine leads you back to Paris, where the final part of the cruise offers another opportunity to enjoy the incomparable atmosphere of the French capital. Historic monuments, elegant neighbourhoods, inviting cafés and the ever-present Seine make a fitting finale to your journey. The VIVA ship fleet continues to grow: in 2026, the VIVA BEYOND will be sailing on the picturesque Seine. This unique ship combines an upscale feel-good atmosphere with the charm and elegance of the French lifestyle. With a length of 110 m, the VIVA BEYOND offers space for 112 guests in a total of 56 cabins, half of which are suites measuring up to 30 m². A special highlight on board: three first-class restaurants – including the MOMENTS, which takes you into the world of fine dining at star level – as well as a bar in the panorama lounge, which invites you to indulge in culinary delights. In the spacious treatment area, you can stay active in the fitness room with modern equipment or enjoy pure relaxation with a massage or wellness session. The spacious sun deck with pool provides the perfect backdrop to experience the impressive views of the varied landscape.
