A real taste of life in the low countries awaits on this cultural exploration. Dive into Dutch nautical heritage with a visit to the Maritime Museum and a Zuiderzee sailing aboard a traditional wooden boat. Admire classic architecture as you float along the canals. See working windmills in action, and warm your spirits with a gin tasting. Allow yourself to be inspired by the same peaceful beauty that inspires artists today as much as it did in centuries past. This is a voyage for curious travelers looking to explore the little-known treasures of northwestern Europe.

Day 1 – Amsterdam (Embark)
Arrive at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. If you have arranged a Uniworld arrival transfer, you will be greeted by a Uniworld representative and transferred to the ship.

Day 2 – Amsterdam
The Netherlands’ largest city, Amsterdam, has been an international port and financial center for 400 years, endowing it with a lively cosmopolitan feeling to match its historic architecture.
* A special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you this evening.

Day 3 – Kampen
An emblem of the former Hanseatic League—a confederation of merchant towns that dominated Northern European trade and formed a significant line of defense against pirates—Kampen wears its history proudly. As a result, the streets of this small-but-mighty town are filled with elegant buildings and well-preserved monuments.

Day 4 – Utrecht, Rotterdam
Begin your day in Utrecht, a beautiful, uncrowded city that provides an excellent example of classic Dutch city architecture and culture.
In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic sailing to Rotterdam, sometimes called “Manhattan on the Meuse” for its dazzling modern skyline. Take it all in from the viewing deck of the iconic Euromast tower during a Nights Out experience.

Day 5 – Rotterdam, Dordrecht
Enjoy a day of South Holland delights, with opportunities to explore Dordrecht (the oldest town in Holland), the UNESCO-designated windmills of Kinderdijk, or the Schoonhoven countryside.

Day 6 – Willemstad
One of the fantastic star-forts of the Netherlands, Willemstad is a fortress town neatly structured in the shape of a seven-pointed star. The surprisingly whimsical nature of this defensive strategy is perhaps a perfect metaphor for the atmosphere of Willemstad itself—for despite its history as a fortress, Willemstad has a remarkably idyllic, small-town charm.

Day 7 – Antwerp
It may be the diamond capital of the world, but Antwerp is also known for a number of other sought-after cultural gems, including Golden Age art, Belgian beer, waffles, pralines and fries, chocolate, and more.
* A special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you this evening.

Day 8 – Antwerp (Disembark)
Disembark the ship in Antwerp. If you have arranged a Uniworld departure transfer, you will be transferred to Brussels International Airport for your flight home.

Meet the S.S. Clara, an elegant new river ship named for Clara Peeters, one of the most influential artists of the Dutch Golden Age. Her dramatic, painstakingly detailed works, often bursting with bright florals and gilded dinnerware, form a rich source of inspiration for a ship set to sail the Rhine and its tributaries. Guests who book a Grand Suite and the adjoining Deluxe French Balcony next door can see their stateroom transformed into an incredibly spacious 2-bedroom suite.
