Adventure Canada – Cruise Traveller

Adventure Canada

Adventure Canada

Founded in 1987, Adventure Canada was created to bring travellers to Canada’s “blank spaces”, those areas whose remoteness alone made them special. Over the last fifteen years, along with our guests, we have discovered that there is so much that is extraordinary about the places we travel, from the landscape, wildlife and culture to the history, art and archeology that is unique to every destination. It is our belief that there is so much to see “beyond the binoculars” that drives us to delve deeper into our favourite places with every expedition and continually seek out new destinations.

We travel by small expedition ship, the best suited mode of transportation for remote exploration. The number of passengers on our voyages run between 45 and 100, depending on the ship we choose. We believe that these small vessels are superior, as they not only allow us to gain access to places not accessible by larger vessels, but our fleet of Zodiac landing craft permit us to visit some of the most remote places imaginable – the key to expeditionary travel.

I had the best time!

“I had the best time. Remember I was a little nervous travelling by myself? Well as soon as I stepped on the plane all that went away .

Remember you said I will make friends well that I did – lots .

Thank you Kirsten for knowing the right things to say to this old lady and helping me to make the decision to go .

I had a wonderful time. It was exciting, adventurous and life changing and that’s what I needed . I saw things I could only see there and nowhere else in the world. The AC team and ship crew are the best at what they do from the Captain to the young man that turn down my bed each night and also left a chocolate, the zodiac drivers that always had my safety first. My first ride out to the ship I remember how frightened I was but by the last trip off the ship to land to catch the plane I was throwing that leg over the side of the zodiac like I had been doing this all my life . Remember I was concerned I would have sea sickness? Well that didn’t happen, and I loved it.

Each day was like no other , we started with beautiful sunny days and in the last few days of the trip we had beautiful cold days with snow . I made my first snowman he was a little on the small size about 15cm tall and I named him Joey. I had art lessons on the cruise and now would like to continue with lessons as I enjoyed it so much. I could write a book on how great this trip was .

Please pass on a BIG THANK YOU to Craig & Louise for a special ride in a zodiac with champagne and music and having all the Aussies together, I felt that was so special . Also you may not know this but Craig did a morning wake up announcement and he was so good everybody loved it,  also on the special zodiac ride I did think of you .

Every day I think about my trip, the people, the beautiful icebergs, seeing a mother and two baby bears and lots more but there is one thing that has changed my way of thinking – the Inuit People. Learning about their culture I found a understanding more of the people and their life and I wish them well for the future of their children and their homeland .

A BIG THANK YOU Kirsten for all your help.”

Efficient, yet personal

I’d like to thank you so much for all the hard work you put in during this difficult time with COVID-19. I’m so impressed with the efficiency of Cruise Traveller, the information given, the personal touch, and the speed of handling the refund etc situation. The rest of the travel industry could certainly learn from you on how to do it properly!

Family business made it more personal

Ever since attending a seminar hosted by Cruise Traveller and Adventure Canada’s own MJ I knew the High Arctic was somewhere I needed to visit. I finally got the opportunity and was able to do their High Arctic cruise in August 19.  The itinerary and destinations were amazing but what really made it was the Adventure Canada team including the CEO of the company! Being a family business made it feel more personable, everyone on board just knew they were doing something really special. Their expedition team was made up of experts in their fields and also some really interesting Inuit people which made each landing even more special as we were visiting their home. Our ship the Ocean Endeavour served us well with a fleet of zodiacs and hotel and restaurant staff that were friendly and looked after us very well.  I can’t wait for the opportunity to cruise with Adventure Canada again.

Travelled on an expedition to the Arctic cruise with Adventure Canada in 2019

Adventure Canada wins over Cathy

Raising a glass to Adventure Canada, it’s Cathy G. in the Arctic

I have always been interested in the Arctic and Antarctic regions and visiting areas that are off the beaten track, have beautiful landscapes and the potential for seeing unique wild life. I prefer small ship cruising and the no single supplement was an advantage too. The itinerary and expedition type cruising were the main factors.

… I appreciate the organisation, time and effort that must have gone on behind the scenes to rearrange things when the itinerary had to change, often at the last minute, but it appeared seamless, eg HMS Erebus site, Grise Fiord, Nuuk overnight, Ilulissat, L’Anse aux Meadows visit. It was clear that the main aim was to provide the optimal experience for passengers, regardless of cost and/or what needed to happen to make it work.

I didn’t know anything about Adventure Canada before my 2 cruises but would certainly travel with the company again. I have also had no hesitation in extolling the virtues of the company to family and friends since arriving home.

It's the Personal Touch

Cathy G in the Arctic 2019 on an Adventure Canada expedition cruise

Thank you to you, Del and everyone up front and behind the scenes at Cruise Traveller who worked so hard and were so accommodating, helpful and enthusiastic which enabled me to explore the Canadian High Arctic, Greenland, Labrador, Newfoundland plus the East Canada cities in such a unique way. There were so many highlights, many unexpected, and I learned and saw so much, with many once in a lifetime experiences.

Even though Cruise Traveller is based in QLD, the personal touch I experienced from you and Del made all the planning and organisation so much easier.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Cruise Traveller to anyone interested in cruising.
