7 Night Cruise sailing from Oban roundtrip aboard Hebridean Princess.

Golf interest cruise.

Combine wonderful visits with the opportunity to play golf on courses that could only exist in the home of golf. Many of the courses are set in spectacular rolling sand dunes with breath taking coastal views. The added benefit is that nobody needs to be an expert to enjoy this wonderful cruise.

Steaming south to Islay we discover Finlaggan, the centre of the Lordship of the Isles and sample a wee dram at Kilchoman Distillery, whilst the golfers play the historic links course at Machrie, one of the few examples of a great traditional links course, preserved for 120 years.

The 18 hole ‘Championship Course’, set in the wonderful Machrihanish Dunes, has become well known, especially for the exceptional first hole which requires the round’s opening shot to carry the Atlantic. Non golfers head for a tour of An Ceardach Garden and Torrisdale Estate and gin distillery. Located at the very heart of Ayrshire’s golf coast lies a modern masterpiece of a links golf course, Dundonald, recognised as one of Scotland’s ‘must-play’ destinations. Alternatively, enter an 18th century time capsule at Dumfries House.

Onwards to Arran where the 12 hole links course at Shiskine was founded in 1896 and the red sandstone Brodick Castle is surrounded by formal gardens and a woodland country park. From Port Ryan the golfers play the beautifully presented 18 holes at Portpatrick Dunskey and the less energetic explore the delightful gardens at Castle Kennedy.

Our voyage concludes on the fertile Isle of Gigha to explore Sir James Horlick’s delightful gardens at Achamore or take in the stunning island and mainland vistas whilst enjoying 9 holes at the Gigha Golf Course.

Hebridean Princess is Hebridean’s original vessel. Specially commissioned in 1965 for the waters of the rugged west coast of Scotland, she commenced sailing under the Hebridean Island Cruises’ flag after a full refit in 1989, establishing a unique and unusual style of cruising.

Beautifully decorated in the finest quality furnishings, her relaxed, floating country house party atmosphere and impeccable service from a warm, welcoming and friendly crew have earned her an unrivalled reputation. From the starboard Conservatory to the cosy Look Out Lounge; from the luxurious Tiree Lounge to the peaceful Library or the quiet of the teak Skye Deck – the comfort of Hebridean Princess is home but better!

Just 49 guests are cared for by around 38 crew as she sails perhaps the most beautiful coastline of northern Europe, Scotland’s Western Isles.
