Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines – Cruise Traveller

IMAGINATIVE & UNCOMMON ITINERARIES

A WORLD WAITING TO BE EXPLORED

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, they believe a cruise is different to a holiday. A cruise is about the joy of the journey, as well as the destinations you visit, and exploring the world from the wonderful vantage point of the ship and the sea.

They plan their cruises differently. The team of Journey Planners evolve their itineraries every year and channel the 175 years of experience in sailing and discovering the world into making every single day special for their guests.  They also put as much time into planning scenic cruising on every sailing as they do in choosing the destinations themselves

Their smaller-sized ships have been elegantly designed and all look and feel like ships with wide open deck spaces as well as lounges and restaurants which have been meticulously planned to ensure you have a wonderful experience. The smaller size of their ships allows you access to more interesting places, such as Norway’s lesser known Fjords, or the islands of the Azores. It also means you can dock in the centre of some of the world’s most fascinating cities.

Each has been specifically chosen for their ability to give you a deeper understanding of the culture and nature.

Treats of the region

Is there a more delicious way to discover something of a country’s culture than through its food?

As well as the tempting regional dishes you will always find on their lunch and dinner menus in the main and buffet restaurants, the talented chefs also host special cookery demonstrations in the spacious Auditorium.

Here, local delicacies are prepared and everyone enjoys tastings and recipes to try for themselves when they return home.

Delicious dining The Olsen Way

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines have a dedicated and specialised on board team committed to crafting delicious meals, beverages, and treats for their guests.

Each day, creating freshly baked bread, mouth-watering dishes, delightful cocktails, aperitifs and after-dinner drinks, as well as exquisite pastries and cakes. And every cup of coffee or tea from Bookmark cafe is served with a freshly made shortbread biscuit or delicate macaron.

The sky at Sea

There is nothing quite like the invigorating experience of witnessing a beautiful sunrise at sea or of looking up at the beauty of a night sky from the deck of a ship.

To make your experience more special, on clear nights they host ‘Stargazing’ experiences where you can sit back on the open deck, wrapped in a blanket with a hot chocolate or hot toddy to warm you whilst listening to their experts as they bring the night sky to life and enhance your understanding of the stars above.

On selected itineraries, sail to seek out the unique Northern Lights or the beauty of the midnight sun.

Elegantly designed cabins

Enjoy a wide selection of accommodation available, ranging from Interior and Outside cabins to Suites. Regardless of your choice, each is beautifully designed with elegance, simplicity and attention to detail, featuring wonderfully comfortable beds and superior-quality linen.

The dedicated Housekeeping team ensures that every detail is meticulously attended to. As you return to your cabin each evening after a day of exploring, you’ll be greeted by the comforting touch of turn-down service and a copy of the Daily Times, allowing you to plan for the exciting day that lies ahead.
