7 Night Cruise sailing from Rome to Barcelona aboard Star Legend.

Roll the dice, tap slot buttons or draw a hand in baccarat in Monte Carlo’s Casino Square. Stand unhurried or distracted before the white marble perfection of Michelangelo’s David in Florence. Linger among Salvador Dali’s most memorable and flamboyant works during an extended stay in the picturesque coastal Spanish town of Palamos. This weeklong autumn cruise explores Europe’s most popular Mediterranean destinations in November, long after most tourists return to work and school, leaving you and the locals with extra time and space to enjoy uncrowded galleries, museums, restaurants, and waterfront promenades. Wander the Papal Palace grounds and stand in silence beneath the Sistine Chapel’s sweeping ceiling paintings. Shop at leisure among market stalls along the Cours Saleya in Old Town Nice. Sample small-run wines from local family vineyards and shop for one-of-a-kind handcrafted souvenirs among the winding cobbled streets and high walls of St. Paul De Vence. Sit among fountains with your coffee in the unhurried Parisian ambiance of Toulon’s Place de la Liberte. If you love Europe and the Riviera without the summertime crowds, this cruise is the ideal way to bask in the time-honored continental charms of Europe’s sunniest coastlines.

Highlights of this cruise:

Rome
In this enchanting city the past and present intersect in perfect harmony. Casually intermingled among ancient ruins and majestic cathedrals are the trappings of a modern metropolis: Skyscrapers, cafes, boutiques selling designer footwear. But of course what you seek first in the heart of Rome is its breathtaking history. A good place to begin is the Vatican, with its Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Works by Bernini, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, and Raphael are just a few of those on display, any one of which is worth hours of contemplation. Then the ancient ruins—Colosseum, Forum, Circus Maximus. And of course the Trevi Fountain for the obligatory coins promising your return to the Eternal City.

Monte Carlo
Glide into port in one of Europe’s most exclusive harbors. Mingle with other privileged yachtsmen or step ashore and start walking. The glittering Grand Casino, legendary for its exotic setting on screen and off, is a must see, as is the royal family’s palace and the tomb of Philadelphia-born Princess Grace in the Cathedral.

Marseilles
France’s oldest city was named the 2013 European Capital of Culture by the European Union. Head in to the old heart of the city for a bowl of the city’s signature bouillabaisse, or drive into the Provençal countryside for a look at the timeless landscapes that inspired Cézanne and other greats.

Barcelona
The old meets the new in this sunny Catalan metropolis, where narrow alleyways contrast with grand boulevards, trendy cuisine meets homemade tapas, and everywhere you’re greeted by the warm, welcoming smiles of the fashionable locals. Don’t miss UNESCO sites like the mind-boggling architecture of Antoni Gaudí or La Sagrada Familia Cathedral, with its eight decorative spires soaring hundreds of feet into the sky.

With only 212 guests, a Star Legend cruise will make you feel like you’re on board your own private yacht almost as soon as you step aboard.

The sitting area of your spacious, newly refurbished suite gives you an expansive ocean view — making it a welcome retreat.

When you’re ready to make an appearance, the lounges, club, casino and library are waiting to be explored. Take some “you” time in the tranquil WindSpa . . . enjoy a dip in the pool . . . work off that decadent dessert in the Fitness Center . . . and, of course, you are always welcome to visit the Bridge to examine navigation charts with the Captain.

Star Legend is large enough to pamper and entertain you, yet small enough to tuck into delightful tiny harbors and hidden coves that others can’t reach.

RENOVATION IN 2020
Starting 02/20/2020, this all-suite ship will undergo a complete renovation as part of the $250 Million Star Plus Initiative to provide more of what our guests love. New public areas, including a two new dining venues, a new spa, infinity pool, and fitness area. The ship also boasts all new bathrooms in every suite and a new category of Star suites, featuring a new layout. With ocean-views and over 277 square feet of comfort, Star Legend is the perfect ship to watch glaciers and fjords drift by from the serenity of your suite.

Carrying only 312 guests (after rennovation), Star Legend still tucks into small ports like Le Lavandou and Wrangell or narrow waterways like the Corinth and Keil Canal. We can’t wait to welcome you onboard for your next 180 degree from ordinary adventure!
