Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Embark MV Victory I in Toronto.
Welcome to Toronto, the most multicultural diverse city on the planet: over 140 languages are spoken. It`s estimated that over half of Toronto`s residents were born outside Canada, and despite its complex makeup, Torontonians generally get along. Toronto is a vibrant, big-time city abuzz with activity. Some of the world`s finest restaurants are found here, alongside happening bars and clubs and eclectic festivals.

Day 2: At Sea
Enjoy a day of scenic sailing as we make our way towards Montreal. Enjoy convivial conversation with your fellow passengers or join an engaging discussion with our shipboard experts, well-versed in the history, peoples, and natural wonders of the Canadian Atlantic region.

Day 3: Montreal, Quebec
In 2017, Montreal celebrated its 375th birthday, making it one of the oldest cities in North America. Situated on the St. Lawrence River, it remains important crossroads for shipping by land and sea, with a rich history of Iroquois, colonial, and cosmopolitan settlements. Enjoy a walking tour of the Old City with a visit to the Notre Dame Basilica. Explore Montreal old and new with a drive through the downtown business district to the top of Mont Royal for a commanding view of the city and the St. Lawrence River. Afterwards, visit one of the world`s largest and most important Botanical Gardens in downtown Montreal.

Day 4: Quebec City, Quebec
Quebec City is the only walled community in North America and is deeply engaged in preserving its history and its unique place in Canada. Coaches depart for the Plains of Abraham where the battle between invading English and French defenders took place as the English stormed the upper city and captured the town. Onward to Place Royale in the lower-town, which was bombarded in 1759 from across the river, as fire ships were dispatched towards the port. We then drive out of Quebec City to see the historical and majestic Montmorency Falls, including a cable car ride to the top where you will have magnificent views across to the Ile d`Orleans. In the afternoon, guests are encouraged to stroll on their own out the port to visit the Petit Champlain and take the funicular railway to the Chateau Frontenac and its magnificent Dufferin Terrace.

Day 5: Whale Watching / Tadoussac
Tadoussac, where the St. Lawrence River meets the outflow of the Saguenay River, is one of the most exciting whale-watching sites in the world. Between May and October, up to 13 species of cetaceans make their way upriver from the Atlantic Ocean, to become temporary residents in the salty rich waters of the St. Lawrence. These sea mammals include blue whales, the largest animals on the planet, and the impressive humpbacks, which swim up into the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord near Tadoussac to feed. The M/V Victory II makes a rendezvous with our whale watching boat off the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord and guests transfer onto the `Grand Fleuve`, which is staffed by a crew who are experts in whale behaviour.

Day 6: At Sea
Enjoy a day of scenic sailing as we make our way towards Charlottetown. Enjoy convivial conversation with your fellow passengers or join an engaging discussion with our shipboard experts, well-versed in the history, peoples, and natural wonders of the Canadian Atlantic region.

Day 7: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Located on Prince Edward Island, Canada`s smallest and most charming province, Charlottetown showcases a wealth of natural beauty and history. In the morning, coaches leave the port and follow the historic trail walked by delegates to the conference that led to the Confederation of Canada. We will make our way along the famous North Shore to Cavendish Bay, in Prince Edward Island National Park, to the farmstead that inspired L.M. Montgomery`s Anne of Green Gables. Enjoy a tour of the house, stroll the haunted woods, Lovers Lane, and the famous white shores of the bay. Visit the charming city center before returning to the ship for an exceptional dinner overlooking the sea.

Day 8: At Sea
Enjoy a day of scenic sailing as we make our way towards Halifax. Enjoy convivial conversation with your fellow passengers or join an engaging discussion with our shipboard experts, well-versed in the history, peoples, and natural wonders of the Canadian Atlantic region.

Day 9: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
We depart for our day exploring Halifax Our first visit is to picturesque Citadel, which was constructed in 1856 as an eight-pointed-star defense-structure to defend Halifax from invading forces. It is populated by the 87th Highlander regiment, who regularly perform re-enactments inside the square. The Halifax Museum of the Atlantic offers an exceptional glimpse into Nova Scotia`s maritime heritage, with an emphasis on small craft and the massive allied World War II convoys assembled in the inner Halifax harbour. On our way out of town, we drive past the Fairlawn Cemetery and hear the compelling story of how 100 of the RMS Titanic victims were recovered and buried in this city. We then we continue along the craggy shoreline for the 45 minutes drive to Peggy`s Cove, one of the loveliest maritime villages in Nova Scotia. Located in St. Margaret`s Bay, this active coastal village retains the character and flavor of an active residential community, with a vibrant fishing fleet, quaint multi-coloured homes and the iconic Peggy`s Cove lighthouse. Lunch will be taken in one of the local restaurants, after which there will be ample time to stroll through the community, explore the rocks surrounding the lighthouse and shop for typical Nova Scotia souvenirs in the local stores.
