Make the most of your time in hopelessly romantic Venice before boarding Crystal Serenity and setting sail for Trieste, a bordertown claimed by so many down the years that it has a distinctly independent air. We head to Dubrovnik now, on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, the old walled city that’s gained new fans from starring as a location in Game of Thrones. The lush green island of Corfu offers a pine-scented introduction to Greece, and we encounter a second beautiful drop in the Ionian Sea at mountainous Cephalonia. Now to the mainland and the cliff-hugging medieval town of Monemvasia, before we reach our final destination, Piraeus, gateway to Athens.
