A must for the hikers, the nature reserve at Knockan Crag offers a fascinating snapshot of Scotland’s geological past. The less energetic can marvel at the deep chasm of Corrieshalloch Gorge, ahead of a visit to Ullapool’s local history museum.
A warm welcome awaits at Raasay House and the pioneering new distillery, or strike out from Churchton Bay on a beautiful coastal walk to explore the area around the village of Inverarish. The Small Isles of Eigg and Muck are magical places which present a peaceful haven for wildlife and the opportunity to stretch our legs.
A place apart with a unique atmosphere, Ulva has a varied landscape and makes ideal walking country. Sheila’s traditional crofting cottage has been faithfully restored and depicts the history of the island. Our final visit, Lip na Cloiche, is a self-made garden on Mull with an eclectic collection of shrubs and plants.
