7 Night Cruise sailing from Athens roundtrip aboard Star Flyer.

They are the stars of the sea. Star Clipper and Star Flyer are as fleet as the wind and as graceful as swans.

These are true clipper ships reflecting their proud heritage in every inch of their polished brass and gleaming brightwork. Step aboard these unique vessels and discover a new age of sail, where the traditions of the past are happily married to the comforts and amenities of the present day. Star Clipper and Star Flyer are modern cruise ships in every way, created for luxury-loving passengers who also love the traditions and romance of the legendary era of sailing ships. Star Clipper and Star Flyer are both 360 feet long and each carries just 170 guests in pampered comfort.

Life aboard is blissfully relaxed, much like traveling on a private yacht. You’ll never feel confined on Star Clipper or Star Flyer. Each ship offer spacious accommodations and expansive teak decks with ample space and not one, but two swimming pools. In fact, you’ll find that these ships offer more outdoor space per passenger than most conventional cruise ships.

The décor of Star Clipper and Star Flyer is reminiscent of the grand age of sail. Antique prints and paintings of famous sailing ships please the eye, while teak and gleaming mahogany rails are richly reminiscent of Star Clippers’ proud nautical heritage.

Highlights of this cruise:

Athens, Greece
Walking in the shadow of the Acropolis in the Agora, you can almost hear the voices of Plato, Socrates and Aristotle arguing about who was the greatest philosopher. Ancient Athens, the birthplace of democracy and epicenter of western civilization, is a city for all eternity.

Dikili, Turkey
Dikili is a coastal town and a district of İzmir Province in the Aegean Region of Turkey. The district is quite picturesque and is a popular summer resort. The center town of Dikili is situated at about 120 km (75 mi) north of İzmir.

Dikiliplays host to a number of cruise ships that call here each year, using the port as a starting point for excursions to the interior, mainly the ancient site of Pergamum. In addition, the village and its surrounding area offer a relaxed holiday atmosphere, with fishing boats, small waterfront cafés and a limited number of shops.

Myrina Limnos, Greece
Limnos (or Lemnos) is the eighth largest island in the Aegean Sea and lies in the North Aegean, between Lesvos and Samothraki. The island has a coastline of 260 km’s and is of volcanic origin. The island’s main town and port is named Myrina, situated on the west coast. There are another 30 villages on the island, the largest of which is Moudros, which is also the island’s second largest port and located in the south.

Tourists to Limnos are attracted by its beauty and seascapes, the wide range of excursions offered to trekking-lovers, interesting archaeological sites, including the medieval castle in Myrina and the archaeological museum, and the many fine sand beaches on its long coastline. The climate is of the Mediterranean type, with warm summers and mild winters.

Skiathos, Greece
Skiathos is a Greek island located in the Sporades group. It is the smallest in size, yet attracts the largest number of visitors to this part of the Aegean. Its beaches are legendary, its lifestyle is cosmopolitan, and it boasts a lovely capital, and many pretty resort-style settlements along its magnificent shores.

The island encompasses pine-covered low hills, with a main road running in a southerly direction from the east coast all the way around to the west coast, where the best beaches are found. The north coast is accessible only on foot or by caique. Skiathos is not an island with inland villages; it has the main town and capital, Chora, and lots of little seaside settlements that have been developed for tourism.

Skopelos, Greece
Skopelos is a Greek island in the western Aegean sea. Larger than Skiathos and smaller than Skyros, this incredibly green island belongs to the Sporades group, which lie off the eastern coast of the mainland, just north of Evia. It’s a beautiful island carpeted with vegetation and green trees, primarily pines, with an abundance of olive, nut and fruit trees.

From Chora there are paved roads leading to the southern beaches and along the west coast as far north as Glossa. Plenty of tavernas can be found at most of the main beach/resort areas, but there are also lots of pretty coves offering privacy. The island is known for its fruit and nuts growing and for crafts. The island has an important name in ceramic design and production, as well as for a variety of handcrafts, such as weaving and embroidery.

Poros, Greece
Paroikia (Paros) is the capital and port of Poros, situated 35.5 nautical miles from Piraeus. It is the stands on the site of an ancient city. Tourists are attracted to the Venetian castle, beautiful beaches, lovely little houses, and mountains carpeted with pine trees.

Visitors to Poros arrive at its bustling harbor full of cafes, bars, and restaurants. The island has two lovely beaches at Askeli and Neorio. At Neorio, visitors have the chance to see the “Kimomeni” or the “sleeping woman,” which is the silhouette of the hills outlined by the setting sun, and is in the form of a woman lying down. Swimmers will find charming little sandy bays all along the way to Neorio, rimmed with pine trees sloping down to the sea. The approach to Poros by ferry is especially picturesque, and is a great place for lovers of scenic sunsets!
