Highlights of this cruise:

Miami
Miami in Florida is located on the southeast tip of Florida. Miami is best known for its sunny weather, golden beaches and lively nightlife. Also known as the ‘Gateway to the Americas’, the 15 miles of glorious beaches make Miami popular with all ages, attracting a broad spectrum of tourists.

Tourist attractions include Miami’s Miracle Mile – one of Miami’s major shopping regions, the Miami Freedom Tower, Miami Metrozoo – one of the finest wild animal parks in America and the Miami Seaquarium – a 38-acre complex of huge saltwater pools.

Miami has a range of communities and districts, amongst them is Downtown Miami, a vibrant and diverse area of Miami, filled with clothes and jewelry shops, restaurants, cafés and fast-food stands. Miami South Beach Area (SoBe) is one of Miami’s most exciting areas and is full of art galleries, stylish diners, Art Deco buildings, glorious beaches and many of Miami’s top nightclubs.

New Orleans
New Orleans is a major United States port and the largest city and metropolitan area in the state of Louisiana. It is tis a top tourist destination, despite being hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The city is known for its historical roots, jazz music, Creole food and year round Mardi Gras atmosphere.

The city of New Orleans has many world-class tourist attractions, including the Aquarium of the Americas, Audubon Zoo, Bourbon Street – the city’s world-famous strip of lively bars and jazz clubs, the French Market and Jackson Square – forming the center of the lively French Quarter.

Other popular attractions in New Orleans include Audubon Park, the Café Du Monde, City Park, Lafayette Cemetery, the Old Ursuline Convent – Louisiana’s oldest building, boasting a wealth of local history; and the Old US Mint.

Cozumel
Cozumel (Mayan: Island of the Swallows) is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. The main town on the island is San Miguel where most of the population reside.
The choice of activities are boundless in Cozumel, golden beaches, turquoise waters, friendly people, festivals, scattered Maya ruins, great restaurants, duty-free stores, diving, golfing and more. Famous all over the world for its coral reefs, there are plenty of water sports such as diving, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, kayaking and more. The center of the island is covered by jungle and swampy lagoons. Chankanaab National Park is a Cozumel icon located at the southern tip of the island. It includes Punta Celarain and its historical lighthouse, as well as the Colombia Lagoon, a shelter for many of the island’s endemic species.

Bequia
Bequia is located about 100 miles west of Barbados and 60 miles south of St. Lucia. The nine sqm island is part of the republic of St.Vincent & the Grenadines in the Lesser Antilles. A popular port-of-call for yachts from around the world, Bequia has lately become equally well known for being a first class diving destination.

Bequia is considered the perfect small Caribbean island: beautiful sandy beaches, lush green hillsides, attractive little villages, well run hotels and guest houses and hardly any traffic.

Bequia offers several ocean front bars and restaurants with the most popular being Frangipani Bar and Restaurant on Admiralty Bay. Adjacent to Frangipani’s is a number of local establishments that one can enjoy as they make their way around the quaint ocean front walkway that encircles much of Admiralty Bay.

Virgin Gorda
The British Virgin Islands, about 60 (mostly uninhabited) islands and cays, are one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations. Virgin Gorda is the second largest land mass in the cluster of islands and is known for its dramatic and beautiful landscape. The unusual rock formations known at “The Baths” comprise one of the most famous snorkeling and photographic sites in the Caribbean. It is now incorporated as a National Park, along with two exquisite white sand beaches, Devil’s Bay and Spring Bay spanning either side of the boulders with a trail connecting both.

The northern reach of the island known as “the North Sound” is accessible by boat only. Here flanked by the smaller islands – Mosquito, Prickly Pear, Eustatia, Necker and tiny Saba Rock, are some of the islands’ finest resorts and restaurants. This area is a Mecca for water sports whether it be windsurfing, kayaking, parasailing or kite boarding.

Explora Journeys represents the ambition and long-held dream of the MSC Group and the Aponte family to create a transformative luxury ocean travel experience and brand that redefines the luxury cruise category.

This is a story that starts in Sorrento with a Neapolitan ferry captain, Gianluigi Aponte, who – together with the Swiss sweetheart he met when she was a passenger on one of his crossings – went on to create MSC, a global shipping operation and the world’s largest privately-owned cruise company. Now this Swiss-Italian seafaring family are fulfilling their life-long dream and launching Explora Journeys, an exquisite, modern luxury cruise experience like no other.

The Aponte family records date back to the 17th century from which 300 years of sea-faring expertise, alongside an inherent passion and respect for the sea has developed.

Indeed, the ocean and its influence on us as human beings sits at the very heart of the Explora Journeys brand.

The oceans connect you with yourself, people and the places around you. It relaxes you, and creates an energy in you that inspires inner and outer discovery, broadens horizons and triggers new connections.

All of this, creates an emotional connection that is powerful, transformative, yet universal.

We call it the Ocean State of Mind

A state of mind that has helped create Explora Journeys. A state of mind inspired by the blue waters of our seas and oceans. Characterised by calm, unity, elegance and joy, that encourages inner and outer exploration and discovery. One that appeals to our audience’s desire for mindful travel. A state of mind that embodies a consciousness of how guests go, not just where they go. This is what Explora Journeys will uniquely provide for our guests.
