20 Night cruise departing from Ushuaia to Stanley with private charter flights to and from Buenos Aires & Santiago onboard National Geographic Endurance. 1 night pre cruise hotel stay in Buenos Aires is included also.

The ultimate Southern Ocean experience, this expedition takes you into majestically spectacular wildness. Not even the vast migrations of Africa can rival the awesomeness of seeing a king penguin colony of tens of thousands individuals stretching as far as the eye can see. Or albatross colonies that fill the windward edges of the remote islands they call home. You’ll have other rare sightings here too: massive, in both senses of the word, herds of elephant seals: and a wandering albatross stretching its 11-foot wings. It’s the impossible beauty of Antarctica exponentially increased by unimaginable numbers of animals. A not-be-missed polar experience, for those with the luxury of time.

Day by Day Itinerary:

DAYS 1: BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA
Settle into the Alvear Art Hotel (or similar) before seeing the city’s Beaux-Arts palaces and the famous balcony associated with Eva Perón.

DAY 2: FLY TO USHUAIA/EMBARK
Today we fly by private charter to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. We have time to enjoy lunch on a catamaran cruise of the legendary Beagle Channel before embarking our ship. (B,L,D)

DAY 3: AT SEA
Settle in to shipboard life as we sail to Antarctica. Keep a lookout for albatross that glide alongside the ship. (B,L,D)

DAY 4-10: ANTARCTICA
With long hours of daylight, we make the most of our days exploring the Antarctic Peninsula and surrounding islands. Our schedule is flexible, allowing us to take advantage of the unexpected. We’ll spend these days on the “White Continent,” exploring via Zodiac, kayak and on foot, and using our arsenal of tools for exploration. (B,L,D)

DAY 11-12: AT SEA
As we voyage, head up to the Bridge to watch for icebergs and observe expert navigation at work as our skilled Captain and officers sail these historic waters. There’ll also be time to enjoy a massage in the wellness center, workout in the gym, and browse in the library. Each day our naturalists offer talks that add depth to your experience. (B,L,D)

DAY 13-17: SOUTH GEORGIA ISLAND
This is the final resting place for explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, and conditions permitting, we’ll hoist a toast at his gravesite. Teeming with wildlife and breathtaking scenery greet our ship. And at a vast penguin colonly you’ll seetens of thousands of king penguins! (B,L,D)

DAY 18-19: AT SEA
Whales beneath, birds above, as you continue on. Our naturalists will prepare us for the exciting days ahead with presentations on the wildlife and history of the Falkland Islands. (B,L,D)

DAY 20-21: FALKLAND ISLANDS
The Falklands boast albatross, king cormorants, nesting rockhopper penguins, and Magellanic penguins in their green tussock grass burrows. Stroll the photogenic colonial town of Stanley and visit the evocative Anglican Cathedral with its archway of whalebones. (B,L,D)

DAY 22-23: DISEMBARK PORT STANLEY/FLY TO SANTIAGO/HOME Disembark in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands. Fly by charter to Santiago.

National Geographic Endurance is a next-generation expedition ship, purpose-built for polar navigation. A fully stabilized, highly strengthened, ice-class Polar Code PC5 (Category A) vessel, it is designed to navigate polar passages year-round, and safely explore unchartered waters, while providing exceptional comfort. Its patented X-BOW® is key to its design; its powerful wave-slicing action provides an extremely smooth ride in even adverse conditions, and even reduces spray on deck, for superior observation. She carries a full suite of expedition tools and offers a variety of experience-enhancing amenities.

For over 50 years, Lindblad Expeditions has been turning vacationers into informed and engaged explorers. Together with National Geographic we offer intimate small-ship expedition cruises that, unlike traditional cruises, are your opportunity to encounter the world’s most pristine and inspiring places up close with the seasoned experts who know them best.

Our expedition cruises provide the safest and most innovative ways to explore places already “discovered” and those that are still very, very wild. Whether you choose to go on a Galapagos cruise, an Alaska cruise, a cruise to Egypt, or any of our other cruise destinations, each expedition cruise features an unmatched combination of adventure travel technology as well as well-appointed cabins, regional and sustainable cuisine and friendly, personal service.

We believe the more closely our guests are able to connect with a destination, the more valuable an affect it will have on their lives and on the more they will come to care about and protect it for future exploration.
