15 Night Cruise sailing from Savannah to Halifax aboard Victory I. Hotel stay pre-cruise in Savannah.

Explore North America from up the Eastern Seaboard to around the Southern Canadian border. Between Savannah and Halifax, remarkable cities await exploration. Trace through historic hotspots and modern marvels that enhance this unique route.

Highlights of this cruise:

Savannah
Savannah is located in Chatham County, Georgia, USA. It is the primary port on the Savannah River and is located along the U.S. Intracoastal Waterway.

Savannah’s architecture and history are internationally known, as is its reputation for Southern charm and hospitality. Savannah’s downtown area (which includes the Savannah Historic District, the Savannah Victorian Historic District and 21 parklike squares) is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the United States.

The city’s location offers visitors access to the coastal islands and the Savannah Riverfront, both popular tourist destinations. Tybee Island, formerly known as “Savannah Beach”, is the site of the Tybee Island Light Station, the first lighthouse on the southern Atlantic coast.

Norfolk
Norfolk is in the metro area called Hampton Roads, in the state of Virginia, USA. It is a port city with a large Navy and shipping presence. Neighboring cities are Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Portsmouth. It is known as a Navy town, as the world’s largest naval base is located here.

Norfolk is also known as a major cultural center, with world-class museums, opera, symphony, ballet and a vibrant arts community. In the last ten years or so, its downtown area has experienced a major resurgence, with gourmet restaurants, shopping and attractions.

Other areas worth visiting in Norfolk include the Town Point Park, a waterfront park area right downtown that hosts several festivals and events throughout the year. Granby Street is the main downtown thoroughfare, lined with restaurants and bars. Ghent is a historic district adjacent to downtown, filled with historic homes, tree-lined streets and beautiful old churches.

Nantucket
Nantucket is an island 30 miles (48 km) south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in the United States. Nantucket is a tourist destination and summer colony. The island offers quiet harbors, dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, lighthouses, beautiful old mansions , gardens and an interesting history.

The island’s long and rich history led the National Park Service to declare the entire island a National Historic District. Notable historical sites include the African Meeting House, Brant Point Light, the First Congregational Church, the Hadwen House, Main Street, the Maria Mitchell Association, the Nantucket Atheneum (local library), the Oldest House, the Pacific National Bank, the “Three Bricks” (which has a very interesting construction history), and the Whaling Museum. The majority of sites are within walking distance of each other.

Boston
Boston is certainly among the top destinations in the USA; its place in American history alone makes it worth a visit. To get a good perspective of the city’s layout and history, take a walking tour along the Freedom Trail. Then, try a memorable trip to the U.S.S. Constitution, see Bunker Hill Monument in nearby Charlestown—which memorializes the efforts of American colonists during the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775—and visit the Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum.

Boston is more than history though. The shopping is phenomenal, and visitors should be sure to visit Faneuil Hall Marketplace, which has a history dating back 250 years. A host of Boston museums warrant a visit, including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Library and Museum, the Cahoon Museum of American Art and the Museum of Afro-American History. For an escape to nature, take in Boston Common, one of the oldest public parks in the United States.

Halifax
Halifax is the capital city of Nova Scotia and the largest city in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. The city has a rich maritime history being one of the world’s great natural harbours, and an entry point for European immigration to Canada in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Today, Halifax is a busy Atlantic seaport set on a steep headland beside its harbour. The Citadel, an old British fortress with a striking white clock tower, is the town’s focal point and most significant sight. Amongst Halifax’s other tourist attractions are the Discovery Center, Halifax Metro Center – a large sports stadium, HMCS Sackville museum, Pier 21, Halifax’s Province House and the Cathedral Church of all Saints.

Halifax’s main museums and art galleries include Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Fultz House Museum and the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History – full of local exhibits and educational / historic information about both Halifax and the state of Nova Scotia.

The indisputable joy of sailing is brought to life on the M/V Victory I and II, agile intimate ships that easily navigate canals and locks, tranquil bays, and hidden ports where larger ships dare not go. Onboard, our fresh, modern design tips its hat to our maritime past as spacious open-air lounges, inviting dining venues, and generous windows ensure you never miss a chance to savor the spectacular view.
