Imbued with the magic and mystery of the remote and unknown, the Inner Isles form a unique universe apart, sheltered by the crescent moon of the Outer Hebrides. Divided into two halves, the Northern and Southern Hebrides, they encompass an extraordinary diversity of landscapes, rich in wildlife and history.
Discover Oban on a walking tour which takes in the panoramic vistas from McCaig`s Tower at the top of Battery Hill. Cruising north, berth in Tobermory Bay where the picturesque capital of Mull is your afternoon port of call. Westwards to Coll, a bird haven which is fringed by silver sand beaches and the idyllic location for an exploration on foot. Neighbouring Tiree is home to the museum which tells the fascinating story of the hazardous construction of Scotland`s tallest lighthouse at Skerryvore. Considered to have one of the finest rhododendron collections in Scotland, the woodland gardens of Colonsay House abound with many rare trees and shrubs. The whisky isle of Islay is known for its peaty, smoky malts, enjoy a tasting and tour at Ardnahoe Distillery and visit Finlaggan, the historic Centre of the Lordship of the Isles. Enjoy breathtaking scenery as you cruise the Sound of Mull to Craignure, where the dramatic setting of Duart Castle has been home to Clan Maclean chiefs for over 700 years. Ashore on the sacred isle of Iona, take time to reflect on the influence of the religious colonists who landed here in 563, before peaceful and rural Kerrera offers refreshing walks and outstanding views.
