_______________
The Inner Hebrides form a wonderful tapestry of landscapes in the sheltered waters off Highland Scotland. Enjoy the awe-inspiring contrasts of wild, untamed beinns and glens with the softer beauty of picture-postcard villages and breathtaking lochs; discover the hidden treasures of the wildly beautiful Inner Isles.
Settle into life on board as you sail north to Gairloch and explore the exotic jewel of Inverewe Garden, magically transformed from a barren, windswept peninsula by the young Osgood MacKenzie. On an exhilarating coach tour, wonder at the otherworldly Trotternish, a landslip formed volcanically some 60 million years ago, eroded through time to the bizarre rock formations of today. Contrast the restored Eilean Donan castle with the ruins of Armadale, and relive MacDonald clan history at the Museum of the Isles. On refreshing walks beneath dramatic An Sgurr, enjoy the wild beauty of Eigg, settled since prehistoric times and now owned by its community. Shop and stroll at Georgian Tobermory, Mull`s colourful capital, before heading to Isle of Mull Cheese, the island`s only dairy farm. Here we discover the traditional methods used to produce their artisan cheeses by hand, before the majesty of ancient Duart Castle, ancestral home of the Clan Maclean. On Iona, where St Columba began his mission in 563, linger in the restored abbey, or walk peacefully through the island`s lovely landscapes, a far cry from the bustling waterfront of Oban. The climb from the town centre to McCaig`s Tower is well worth the effort when faced with the spectacular views across Oban Bay to the Atlantic Islands.
