7 Night Cruise sailing from Athens roundtrip aboard Star Flyer.
Highlights of this cruise:
Athens
Walking in the shadow of the Acropolis in the Agora, you can almost hear the voices of Plato, Socrates and Aristotle arguing about who was the greatest philosopher. Ancient Athens, the birthplace of democracy and epicenter of western civilization, is a city for all eternity.
Pigadia - Karpathos, Greece
Framed by rugged mountains and sparkling seas, the town of Karpathos - once known as Pigadia - welcomes passengers with authentic Dodecanese charm. The harbour is lined with colourful fishing boats, waterfront cafés, and tavernas where the scent of grilled seafood fills the air. Passengers can stroll through the narrow streets of the old quarter, discover local crafts, or simply enjoy the tranquil rhythm of island life. Nearby beaches shimmer with clear blue water, perfect for a refreshing swim. In Karpathos, simplicity is part of the charm, everything feels close, easy, and warmly familiar from the moment you arrive.
Kusadasi
Kusadasi is a popular Turkish port of call for cruise ships, as not only is it a bustling resort town full of shops, bars and restaurants, but it is also the main access point for the famous archeological site at Ephesus. Extensive excavations have revealed an ancient city through which visitors can now wander and observe the wonders of a bygone civilisation. Near Kusadasi, on Turkey’s turquoise coast, we make a stop at Camlimani, a small pellucid bay. Swim at the beach, snorkel, stroll the pine scented grounds, or have a run at the rides in the aquapark.
Patmos
This serene island is known as the site of the apocalyptic revelations of St. John the Divine, The cave where he is said to have lived is now the site of the Monastery of the Apocalypse. It houses priceless icons and manuscripts in its treasury.
Gavrio - Andros, Greece
The small port of Gavrio welcomes you to the island of Andros with its calm way of life. This small harbour is surrounded by gentle hills and the scent of the sea. Although Gavrio itself has little more than a few cafés and seaside tavernas, it is the perfect place to explore the natural beauty and tranquil soul of Andros. Beyond the port, excursions lead to landscapes of stone villages, green valleys and long, windswept beaches. The island's main town, also called Andros, lies on the opposite side of the island, an hour's drive from the port, and is a graceful settlement of neoclassical houses, leafy squares, and art galleries. |
