New Epicurean and Cultural Sojourn in Western Europe – Cruise Traveller

New Epicurean and Cultural Sojourn in Western Europe

Tiny and enchanting islands and towns in western Europe that bigger ships cannot visit feature in a special, three-week epicurean and cultural voyage from The Netherlands to Portugal with Atlas Ocean Voyages that has been packaged with extensive savings by Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller.

The cuisine-themed voyage this October from Amsterdam to Portugal calls at small, rarely visited places few Australians have heard of such as the quaint island of Tresco off the English coast, the charming, Welsh coastal village of Fishguard, the walled French hamlet of St Malo on the Brittany coast and the beautiful French river town of La Roche-Guyon

Tresco, off the English Coast

‘Kings and Castles’ is the name of the new 21-night package from Cruise Traveller, which is the exclusive Australian representative for Atlas Ocean Voyages in Australia. The journey begins on September 30, 2025, with a night in an Amsterdam hotel. Guests then board Atlas Ocean Voyages’ sleek, 198-guest expedition yacht, World Voyager, launched in 2020, for a 20-night, destination-rich journey from Amsterdam to Lisbon.

Featuring 15 ports in The Netherlands, England, Wales, Ireland, Spain, France and Portugal, the bespoke itinerary will see World Voyager sail up the Seine River in France to the historic Joan of Arc city of Rouen for an extended, three-day stay so guests can immerse themselves in the local culture. From the walled town of St Malo, guests can visit the famous, abbey-topped islet of Mont St Michel on the Brittany coast. The cruise also calls at the unique, family-owned island of Tresco near the Cornish coast – home to charming, soul-soothing hamlets and bays.

Rouen, France – site of the demise of Joan of Arc

Wales – often overlooked by tourists – is visited along with the boisterous pubs of Waterford in Ireland. During an overnight stay in the wine capital of Bordeaux, guests can visit vineyards that produce some of the world’s best drops, and guests can also wander the narrow, cobble stoned streets of Gijon in Spain. The voyage and package ends in Lisbon, Portugal.

The epicurean and cultural expedition cruise aboard World Voyager includes onboard culinary demonstrations, cuisine and wine tastings, a gourmet Josper Grill charcoal grill dining experience in the ship’s 7AFT Grill restaurant and culinary events ashore as part of a cultural immersion tour.

The voyage also includes complimentary beverages and mini-bar, pre-paid gratuities and onboard WiFi.

The 21-night ‘Kings and Castles’ package’ is available from A$12,995 per person, twin-share, in an Oceanview Stateroom – a saving of A$2600.  Solo fares in an Oceanview Stateroom are from A$18,975 per person – a saving of A$3795. Book by March 31, 2025. Flights from Australia are extra.
