We prefer small ships

“Our cruise from Cairns to Sydney in December aboard Ponant’s Le Laperouse was just stunning. We enjoyed  Christmas onboard with all the festivities and trimmings and the service and cuisine were wonderful. We also sailed last year aboard Crystal Symphony from Japan to America via Russia and Alaska and that was also a great holiday. We prefer small ships because they are quieter with less children, there are no queues, you get to know the crew and they are often all-inclusive so you don’t have to think about what you are spending each day. We particularly like Ponant because their vessels feel like yachts and they go to smaller ports. Our next cruise will be with Azamara when it’s safe to travel again.”

Best Holiday I have Ever Taken

“The best experience ever – that was my trip to Antarctica aboard Ponant’s expedition ship, Le Lyrial. The 2-week cruise was easily the best holiday I’ve ever taken. The penguins, seals and whales were incredible and unlike bigger ships where you are not allowed ashore in Antarctica, we set foot on the ice many times. I travelled on my own but because the ship was small, it was so easy to get to know the crew and fellow passengers. I’m looking forward to my next cruise with Ponant in the Kimberley.”

“I had the best time. Remember I was a little nervous travelling by myself? Well as soon as I stepped on the plane all that went away .

I had a wonderful time. It was exciting, adventurous and life changing and that’s what I needed . I saw things I could only see there and nowhere else in the world. The AC team and ship crew are the best at what they do from the Captain to the young man that turn down my bed each night and also left a chocolate, the zodiac drivers that always had my safety first. My first ride out to the ship I remember how frightened I was but by the last trip off the ship to land to catch the plane I was throwing that leg over the side of the zodiac like I had been doing this all my life . Remember I was concerned I would have sea sickness? Well that didn’t happen, and I loved it.

Each day was like no other , we started with beautiful sunny days and in the last few days of the trip we had beautiful cold days with snow . I made my first snowman he was a little on the small size about 15cm tall and I named him Joey. I had art lessons on the cruise and now would like to continue with lessons as I enjoyed it so much. I could write a book on how great this trip was .

Please pass on a BIG THANK YOU to Craig & Louise for a special ride in a zodiac with champagne and music and having all the Aussies together, I felt that was so special . Also you may not know this but Craig did a morning wake up announcement and he was so good everybody loved it,  also on the special zodiac ride I did think of you .

Every day I think about my trip, the people, the beautiful icebergs, seeing a mother and two baby bears and lots more but there is one thing that has changed my way of thinking – the Inuit People. Learning about their culture I found a understanding more of the people and their life and I wish them well for the future of their children and their homeland .

Small ships - much friendlier

“As a solo traveller, I find small ships are ideal as they are intimate and friendlier. It’s so easy to get to know fellow passengers and crew and I also get to visit interesting and remote places. I don’t travel to go shopping. I like to visit beautiful and special places. And that’s why I sailed with Ponant in February to Macquarie Island and other sub-Antarctic islands. Family business made it more personal

Ever since attending a seminar hosted by Cruise Traveller and Adventure Canada’s own MJ I knew the High Arctic was somewhere I needed to visit. I finally got the opportunity and was able to do their High Arctic cruise in August 19.  The itinerary and destinations were amazing but what really made it was the Adventure Canada team including the CEO of the company! Being a family business made it feel more personable, everyone on board just knew they were doing something really special. Their expedition team was made up of experts in their fields and also some really interesting Inuit people which made each landing even more special as we were visiting their home. Our ship the Ocean Endeavour served us well with a fleet of zodiacs and hotel and restaurant staff that were friendly and looked after us very well.  I can’t wait for the opportunity to cruise with Adventure Canada again.

Great service and amazing scenery

What a magic time to cruise on the Danube from Budapest to Vienna and back for the Christmas markets. We fell in love with our floating home, MS Thomas Hardy, especially the open French balcony in our stateroom where we could look dreamily at the passing scenery and also the ship-top jacuzzi where we soaked in more scenery at dawn and dusk and even after dinner. We also loved the free bikes we could ride to explore medieval towns. And the onboard classical music performance by local musicians in Vienna was also memorable. Great service, amazing scenery, enchanting markets. Loved it all

Adventure Canada wins over Cathy

I have always been interested in the Arctic and Antarctic regions and visiting areas that are off the beaten track, have beautiful landscapes and the potential for seeing unique wild life. I prefer small ship cruising and the no single supplement was an advantage too. The itinerary and expedition type cruising were the main factors.

… I appreciate the organisation, time and effort that must have gone on behind the scenes to rearrange things when the itinerary had to change, often at the last minute, but it appeared seamless, eg HMS Erebus site, Grise Fiord, Nuuk overnight, Ilulissat, L’Anse aux Meadows visit. It was clear that the main aim was to provide the optimal experience for passengers, regardless of cost and/or what needed to happen to make it work.

I didn’t know anything about Adventure Canada before my 2 cruises but would certainly travel with the company again. I have also had no hesitation in extolling the virtues of the company to family and friends since arriving home.

Can't Wait to Return to Portugal

We thoroughly enjoyed our Douro River Cruise on board the “Douro Elegance”. Our sightseeing Guides were very knowledgeable and offered us many insights into the locations that we visited. The river itself was a great experience with both the highest and second highest locks in Europe being traversed and the vine covered hills along the way added a touch of serenity whilst gliding along the river.

Life on board was very relaxing and enjoyable. The staff and crew provided excellent service and all our meals were very enjoyable. In particular we enjoyed the Music Night where a few of us got the chance to exercise our vocal chords.

Finally, we found Porto to be a great experience. The city was alive and colourful and we look forward to the day that we can return.

Seamlessly Coordinated

From the moment we were taken onto the Venice dock to the moment we disembarked & arrived at Rome Airport – the entire process was seamlessly coordinated.  It seems as if Regent had taken account of every customer survey, comment & criticism ever written and rolled them all into one first class cruise. The interior decor of the ship was sumptuously furnished & fitted out with no expense spared.
